Between November 6th, 2010 and January 7th, 2011 Civic Museum of Alatri (Frosinone, Lazio) is home to a collective exhibition titled “Contemporary proposals for young collectors”, curated by Adelinda Allegretti. The show is open to Italian and foreign artists working with different medias (painting, photo, computer graphics, engraving, sculpture, ceramics and installation). The theme is free. Every artist can participate with a maximum of 3 works. Bi-dimensional artworks (paintings, photos, computer graphics and engravings) must not exceed cm 100x100. Other dimensions will need to be discussed with curator. If the same artist intends to present 2 or 3 bi-dimensional artworks with frames, these must be identical and previously selected. All artworks must have fixings. Participation is not guaranteed, so every artist must send photographic documentation of the artworks, listing the technique, the year of execution and dimensions. All artworks must reach Civic Museum of Alatri not after November 3rd. The organizers will be in charge of setting up and dismantling the exhibition. Artists are welcome to attend the preparation of the exhibition, on November 4th and November 5th, but this is not mandatory. We would, however, very much appreciate their presence at the opening, on November 6th, probably at 5 pm. The organization will supply personnel to look after the artworks. It will also provide insurance for civil responsibility. Artists wanting to insure their artworks against damages and thefts will have to do so on their own. Artists or their couriers are welcome to personally pick up their artworks after the end of the exhibition, between 8th and 9th January. After this date, uncollected items will be dispatched via courier. Delivery to and from Alatri is to be paid by the artist. The organization will hold 20% on the sales. Every artwork must have a photo authenticated by the author. Artists will need to provide a high resolution photo in .jpg of the selected works. The exhibition will be accompanied by a .pdf colour catalogue with all the exhibited works. The organization will also provide invitations and posters in .pdf format and prepare a press-release for Italian journalists. Interested artists must contact me as soon as possible; works will be selected upon viewing the material sent by the artists.
